It gets a little nerve-racking when there's an impending expectation of your teacher calling up your parents.
The whole Earth will be filled with tremors and dismay if, in any point in time, some "politically-incorrect" information made their way to the ears of your parents. Undesirable consequences follow up with the long hours of nagging/reprimanding/counseling/psychoing.
Phew..thankfully, I ain't under the blasting of some superb sound system right now. For that, I should be grateful to my mother for being so understanding and to pardon me for my cannot-make-it results.
Some parents set unreachable goals for their kids; note the irony when goals are supposed to be realistic and reachable! One thing that this results in-embitterment. There are parents who only expect As in the results slip that they sign once in a few months, nothing else but A, top-notch results. Little do many of the middle-aged parents, who don't receive much education in the past, know how tough life as a student now has become.
Well, perhaps it's precisely because they don't know the difficulties we face and so, they think everything is simply a piece of cake!
I should be thanking my mother and perhaps, Mdm Tay, for such peace that I am enjoying just now. Despite knowing little about the contents of this parent-teacher conversation, one thing that I know from this is, my mum is understanding enough=)
