Together with Mum and my younger brother, we went for a IT shopping spree yesterday. Reached Marina Square early just to patronise the newly-opened Creative store for an early bird offer- Zen Neeon 1GB for just $169!!

But! The salesperson told me the limited 20 sets daily was sold out. You know, I suspect that was a sham since we were so early-half an hour after the time the store opens!!

Anyway, we went for a sumptous lunch and next, to the IT fair at Suntec. It was supposed to start at 12, my hp clock reads 11.54am by the time we reached the venue. Yet, the area was already bustling with crowd. People rushed up escalators, forming this long marching army ants from the 1st escalator, right to the last.

Yeah, I supposed you would have guessed as much, most of them were Singaporeans and they were proudly displaying their infamous spirit-kiasuism!

It was a real eye-opener for me at that IT fair simply because it was my first time there though technology seldoms interest me. I was pretty puzzled when I saw some of the participating companies using hot babes and hunks as a form of..er..should I call them advertisement? The "babes" were dressed sexily and giving out flyers only to guys-.- (from what I observed in 10 mins or so).

Anyway, there were stores which people zoomed to the moment they landed in the exhibition hall, yet for the others, the crowd pretended they weren't existing. I got my mp3 player!! it's a Creative Muvo slim 1GB at $179=) Mum got one mp3 for herself too, after much psychoing from my brother and I.

As for my younger brother, he got himself a laptop at $3000=X He claimed that he can use it for poly, but he's still in sec 4 now.

Well...you may not know this, in my family, children(the 3 of us) have to be independent in the financial aspect. That is, other than school-related stuffs, we gotta pay almost everything ourselves, even our own hp bills. Clothings? Sometimes we get the privellege of having my parents to sponsor which doesn't happen all the time.

In many families, parents pay for everything their children buy-hp, branded clothes, costly bags, mp3 players, branded watch and the list goes on... I'm sure for most of you, your Mum/Dad pays your bill for you, ain't it? I do envy these pampered children, but I must admit, my family is not rich, especially when Dad is illiterate and our family income mostly come from his work? And so, very often, we use our own savings to buy whatever we like. Hopefully, that doesn't add on to his burden of supporting the family=)

Well, if you are one of those whom your parents are your ATM machine, then I can only say that you are lucky to be their kids. Cherish them like I cherish my parents:)

*nod heads* Uh huh..I paid for my mp3 and my brother paid for his laptop.
