In the past two weeks, sitting in office was not all about doing work and learning but definitely, I had a feel of what office politics really meant and amidst this, how complex human nature can be. To put it more simply, backstabbing of various XX seems rather prevalent. ARgh..I would rather go back to college. I miss lunching with my friends, chatting with the Grace, Rachael and Li Ming, nuah-ing on tables and having breaks almost after every hour. Working ripped me of all these luxuries that I used to enjoy!

Generally, there are 4 main groups of people that I have known so far.

1st:" WORK=LIFE" type
The first thing they do when they reached office is to get their face stuck to the squarish screen and get their fingers active at the keyboard. Lunchbreak don't exist in their schedule sometimes. They clock in earlier than others and clock out later than most. At the worse end of the spectrum, you see a fierce lady who expects me to know everything already. She can't stand temp staffs just sitting there fighting with them for office air. If this kind of situations arise, I will be assigned work very soon!

2nd: I HAVE NO TIME!! + the angels
These are the more normal ones. Though they still work round the clock till they knock off from work, but if you approach them for help, they will gladly assist you. Some, patiently teach you whatever you need to know starting from the basics. These are whom I call the angelic colleagues. They answer your questions without showing any faces and they pardon the blunder you made if you are a new staff.

3rd: "AIYA! FREE ELECTRICITY LEH..BETTER GO SURF NET AND BLOG HOR?" type.
I caught some of the staffs there who surf the net to blog and visit their friendster website during office hours while the colleagues beside are struggling to get their work done. So much so that their eyes looked as if they are going to pop out anytime soon after enduring long hours of looking at the PC. So much for being colleagues! Adults really get more selfish at times, don't they?

4th: "LUNCHTIME=GOSSIP/COMPLAIN" type
Office hours not much time to talk leh..so lunchtime better exercise the mouth!

I specially hate these group of people. I just smile smile and keep quiet if they do their "mouth exercise" in front of me.

On another note, Sony's having their annual xmas fest at suntec convention centre this weekend. So expect lots of sales and free gifts at the roadshow if you are looking for electronics devices! Details are as follows:

Time:11am-9pm (7pm on sun)
Venue:level 2, room 201

I am on duty on friday, I am sure it's gonna be hell simply because the office ladies are transformed into cashiers for the roadshow. To make things worse, we only went through a 3 hour course on how to handle the programme.

Gosh. I am expecting hell, really.
