Ask me how's my work recently?
I will give you the answer that I have been repeating for the upteenth times.
The first day at work was..pretty bad actually; I just stoned for almost one whole day at my workplace while the people beside me rush their heads off to churn out invoices, stock allocation lists. It seemed as if I was from another universe from them. I wanted to help but my ability was pretty limited because I don't know the business software-SAP.
Lunchtime almost came and my biggest worry surfaced-will I be eating alone? :(
Thankfully, one nice lady invited me to join her and her colleagues for lunch.I remained very quiet during lunch though!
I felt just like a hermit crab always hiding in its shell, being separated from the world then, but I am sure it takes time for a hermit crab to get use to the environment that it's living in, especially if it's new to the place. I am slowly getting used to my colleagues and their way of life, or rather work. The hermit crab wants to rid itself of the shell that it has been hiding in!
Here's how my first 2 days past!
Speaking of my other job as a part-time tutor at a private tuition centre, I found some sense of achievement while interacting with a 8 yr-old girl last night! Her mum came for the parent-meeting and the moment she came into the apartment(which is transformed into a tuition centre), her facial features turned into a squashed pulp. I thought that spells trouble; I gotta handle that spoilt brat.
Her mum asked if she liked the environment here and she hurriedly shook her head vigorously and tugged closely as if she had a strong sense of insecurity. While that lady who seemed to be a rich tai tai went into the room for a meeting, I approached this little girl. Don't ask me how exactly I did it, but I brought out her first smile during her stay last night! Eventually, things took a turn for the better as I helped her to make friends and she even made a request for me to be her teacher! :)
Ain't I both glad and relieved!
:)
